360° HDRI Maps

360° HDRIs (known as High Dynamic Range Images, domes or 360° HDRI maps), are spherical panoramic images that are used for CGI rendering, and also as virtual environments. Our 360° HDRIs are industry recognised as being the best in the industry, and we pride ourselves on the quality and breadth of our collection.

High Dynamic Range Images ( HDRI ) for CG Rendering

Our 360° HDRIs are a full sphere capture of a scene including the nadir and the zenith axis points, and provide real world lighting and highly detailed reflections to your rendered 3D data sets and virtual environments.

Our highly skilled team of photographers are experts at capturing 360° HDRI maps, with the objective of making your workflow as seamless as possible. Every effort is made to achieve the ideal position for each map, and in some instances there are multiple 360° HDRIs available for a single location.

Dynamic Range

To create  high quality 360° HDRIs  you need to not only understand what makes for a good scene creatively, but to also have a technical understanding of the science behind it.

Each of our 360° HDRIs  are captured to gather the widest scope of dynamic range, from the darkest shadow to the brightest of highlights, then processed as unclipped 32-bit images, which for a typical outdoor scene in full sunlight is around 24 EVs. The resulting HDRI map ensures the best quality for your CG pipeline, bringing more out of your data renders and providing extra depth to your shaders.

Tech Specs

Our collection is built on quality, meaning our files carry a native resolution up to 30,000 pixels by 15,000 pixels (450 megapixels +), and our 360° HDRI’s also come as full resolution tone maps for either high fidelity VR use, virtual productions, or render backgrounds.

As standard our 360° HDRIs are supplied in .exr format, however should you require .hdr as an alternative, we offer an “on the fly” conversion that also facilitates file sizes of 2k, 4k and 8k to download.
